Church Point is an upscale neighborhood in the Bayfront Communities of Virginia Beach with historic roots. The neighborhood land had been granted by Adam Thoroughgood to the minister to the settlers. The deed restrictions on the property prohibited developing the entire parcel, therefore a large portion was preserved as upscale Bayville golf course, and the neighborhood developed around it. The homes were built in the late 80's and early 90's and consist of roomy, modern homes with modest lot sizes. A Property Owners Association stipulates standards for the neighborhood. The Lynnnhaven River hugs the neighborhood on the southeast and a gazebo offers a meeting space for residents. A trail leads into the adjacent Thoroughgood and the Bayside Rec Center and Bayville Park is just a block away. The Chesapeake Bay Beaches are a bike ride away.
